Last week, Reverends Mark D. Boykin, Marc Kulczycky, and Leiza Gomes traveled to France and Portugal. The purpose of their trip was to meet with Christian leaders in Europe and to encourage believers and churches.
The journey began in France, where the team stayed three days. Their host in France was Pastor Efraim Valdomiro, a Brazilian missionary to Europe who also works in African countries such as Morocco. The group ministered at two churches during their stay in France.
On Tuesday night, they shared at Gethsemane Evangelical Church in Paris, an African church comprised mainly of French speaking immigrants from Angola and Congo. The team received a warm welcome from Pastor Emmanuel Kimvuela, the leader of the congregation. On Wednesday night, the group traveled to Orleans, where Rev. Boykin preached at Project Omega Church, a Brazilian church led by Pastors Elieser and Marilene Miranda.
While in France, the team also had the opportunity to meet ministers from England who flew in to see Pastor Boykin. The group sensed a divine connection with Pastors Marco and Dinah Oliveira who lead Genuine Word Ministry in London. The Oliveiras were joined by Jehan Rolim, their Church Administrator. Genuine Word Ministry is dedicated to evangelism, street ministry, and to reaching the lost in their city.
On Thursday, the team traveled to Portugal, where they had a busy ministry schedule for the next three days. Their hosts in the country were Pastors Antonio and Armanda Monteiro, the leaders of Doulos Church in Lisbon. The vision of Doulos church is to reach the hurting, brokenhearted, and downtrodden for Christ. The Monteiros also have a heart for Africa and are working in Mozambique, Malawi, and Zimbabwe.
On Friday evening, Rev. Kulczycky spoke at Doulos church while Rev. Boykin preached at the New Alliance Church in Caldas da Rainha led by Pastors Samuel and Sandra Vicente. Rev. Vicente is one of the key leaders in his movement, and in addition to leading the Church in Caldhas, is also pastoring the mother church in Lisbon.
The group drove to Cascais on Saturday afternoon where Pastor Boykin addressed leaders at the annual conference of Brazilian Assemblies of God ministers in Europe. Rev. Francisco Silva, the President of the Brazilian Assemblies of God in Europe, provided a warm reception and hospitality to the group. In the evening, Pastor Boykin spoke at Doulos church.
Sunday saw the conclusion of the three day conference at the Doulos church as Pastor Boykin ministered at the morning service. On Sunday evening, Rev. Kulczycky and Rev. Gomes preached at The Holy Spirit Church in Faro. The Holy Spirit Church is one of the largest and fastest growing churches in Portugal and is under the charismatic leadership of Bishop Paulo Cunha and his wife Pastor Sonia Cunha. This dynamic church is making a tremendous impact on the local community. The team was very touched by the warmth, sincerity, and generosity of the Cunhas. After a fruitful week of ministry, Revs. Boykin, Kulczycky, and Gomes returned back to the United States on Tuesday.
The trip to France and Portugal was a success. Not only did the team encourage leaders and churches through powerful prophetic preaching and ministry, but also established new ministry contacts and connections in both Europe and Africa. Pastor Boykin would like to thank all the pastors and ministers who graciously received the team during their trip.
